The Memorial Bridge, Endorsements and more

Chellie has been very busy these past few weeks, and I wanted to be sure you see these great articles and videos about her work. Be sure to check out her visit to In the Arena with WCSH 6 and her endorsement from Planned Parenthood. She’s been working hard to secure funding for the Memorial Bridge between Kittery and Portsmouth with great success! Read more below about her fight against oil companies hiking the amount of ethanol used in fuel for newer cars and light trucks and a great piece about her record on small businesses. Read More »

18 days and counting

We have only 18 days left to get Maine voters out to the polls for Chellie and other progressive Democrats. With the latest polls showing Chellie's Tea Party opponent within single digits and on the attack, it's now more important than ever that all of Chellie's supporters do what they can -- making phone calls and knocking on doors, stuffing envelopes and putting up signs. Read More »

It’s happened.

The Republicans have just gone up on the air with a nasty, personal attack ad characterizing my mom's relationship and personal life with goofy election year graphics and tactics. She needs to fight back, and hard. And she needs you to join her. Read More »

Get Out The Vote for Chellie!

Election Day is 22 days away, and the latest poll is showing Chellie's Tea Party opponent within single digits. The right wing is riled up and motivated to get their base out to vote, and polls like that are only going to motivate them more. We must make sure to turn out our supporters in high numbers this year or the Tea Party "wave" could take Maine, too. But to do that, we must expand Chellie's Get Out The Vote team. Read More »

Vote early for Chellie!

Vote early for Chellie!

Election Day is less than a month away and the Tea Party base is riled up and motivated to get out and vote. They have even put forward their own candidate to run against Chellie. We must make sure to turn out our supporters in high numbers this year or the Tea Party "wave" could take Maine too. And we can start now by voting early! Read More »

Chellie’s first TV ad “Small Business”

Chellie’s first TV ad “Small Business”

Last week, we asked you to help get Chellie's first TV ad on the air -- and you came through. Supporters across the state -- and even some from around the country -- chipped in so we could get the facts about Chellie's record out to the voters of Maine. Now, I'm so proud to share with you Chellie's first TV ad of 2010 - "Small Business." Read More »

One day to go

One day to go

In just one term in Congress, my mom has been a force for positive change in Washington. She worked to pass the first healthcare reform bill in a generation, she's working to end the wars, and she's leading the fight to bring a real Clean Elections system to DC. They're the same big issues she promised to tackle two years ago, and now she'd doing what she promised. Read More »

The Tea Party, the election, and my mom

The Tea Party, the election, and my mom

The election is now less than six weeks away, and it is shaping up to be a very difficult year for Democrats across the country. If you are like me, the state of political debate in our country probably makes you want to hide under your bed. I can't remember a time in my life when our political landscape was so divided and driven by fear, debates seemed so devoid of facts, and yet the stakes were so high. Make no mistake, the stakes are also very high for us here in Maine. And my mom's race for re-election is no exception. She needs your help. Read More »

Chellie fighting for veterans

Here's a great story in NPR about Chellie fighting to get veterans the medals they deserve. Earlier this week Chellie sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates requesting that the Department of Defense re-evaluate the process by which service members are awarded the Purple Heart. Currently, the Medal is only awarded to service members who are wounded or killed in combat, not to those who suffer from mild traumatic brain injuries.  Read More »

Campaign Kick-Offs

These past few weeks have been filled with campaign kick-offs across the state. On Wednesday night the Kennebec County Democrats hosted their campaign kick-off and last night the Maine Democratic Party Headquarters in Portland was packed with motivated supporters. I was so heartened to see nearly every person sign up for a volunteer shift. Mainers are stirred up about this election where we have so much at stake, and they're rolling up their sleeves to pitch in! Read More »

Coming to a town near you

As we approach the end of summer and the campaign kicks into high gear, I thought I'd give you an update on Chellie's activities. When she's not in Washington, Chellie has been very busy here in Maine--meeting with Maine families and small businesses across the district; attending parades, festivals, and other local events; and meeting with voters and supporters to hear first-hand about their concerns and thoughts.  Read More »
